Festival Puppet #1

This is my reproduction of a Japanese festival puppet that I had a nice long time to studywhile visiting Karakuri expert and Japanese National Treasure Tamaya Shobie IX. He had his puppet near the entrance to his studio, and it was used as an example piece to show the very basic principals of festival puppet mechanics.

There are more complicated versions, of which I plan to make a few more. I plan to continue my 'studies' of karakuri in this way.
