This is one of my current builds that is in the final stages of completion. It has been a long build, maybe four years in total - not that I spent four years solid on this fella. He was shelved after some attempts at using wooden cams to control his movements failed. I do not have a great amount of time or a well-stocked workshop, so solutions came slowly.
I finally opted to replace the traditional cams used for this sort of Karakuri with an Arduino controlled array of servos, carefully hidden in the display case.
